Information we collect

We may collect information that you choose to provide through consultation, registration, intake, contact, account, comment, event, or transaction forms. Depending on the service, this may include contact details, background information, immigration-related information, uploaded documents, preferences, and communications.

Our website may also collect limited technical information, such as browser and device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, referring page, pages visited, interactions, timestamps, cookie or consent preferences, and diagnostic information.

Please do not provide sensitive immigration, identity, financial, health, or legal information unless it is requested through an appropriate secure process and is necessary for the service you are seeking.

How we use information

  • To respond to requests and provide immigration consulting and related services.
  • To administer registrations, consultations, events, accounts, payments, and customer support.
  • To maintain security, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve website performance.
  • To understand website usage and measure marketing effectiveness where consent is required.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, professional, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.

Cookies and privacy choices

Essential technologies support security and website operation. Optional analytics and marketing technologies are disabled by default until you make a choice through the privacy panel.

You may choose “Reject non-essential,” “Analytics only,” or “Accept all.” You can change your selection at any time by using the “Privacy choices” button displayed on the website. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

With analytics consent, Google Analytics may receive page addresses, referring information, browser and device signals, interaction events, and approximate geographic information. Google Tag Manager is used to manage measurement tags. Our configuration does not send the answers entered into Fluent Forms to Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.

Successful form interactions may be measured using a form identifier, a general form name, the event type, and page context. Names, telephone numbers, email addresses, uploaded documents, and form answers are not included in these analytics events.

Meta Pixel

With marketing consent, the Meta Pixel may receive page-view and lead-event information, page addresses, referring information, browser and device signals, cookie identifiers, and network information. We use this information to measure advertising performance and understand whether an advertisement resulted in a website interaction.

We do not use automatic advanced matching, and we do not send form answers or direct contact information to Meta through our Tag Manager configuration.

Other services and embedded content

We may use service providers for website hosting, security, forms, email delivery, payment processing, customer support, analytics, and advertising. Embedded content from third-party websites may behave as if you visited those websites directly and may be subject to their own privacy practices.

Personal information may be processed outside British Columbia or Canada, where it may be accessible under the laws of the jurisdiction in which a service provider operates.

When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to authorized staff, consultants, professional advisers, and service providers who require it for the purposes described above. We may also disclose information when required or permitted by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business reorganization. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the identified purposes and applicable legal, regulatory, professional, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods vary according to the nature of the record and the service provided.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask about our handling of your personal information, request access or correction, or withdraw consent for optional uses. Some information may need to be retained or processed where permitted or required by law.

To make a privacy request or raise a concern, contact info.imm@shawsglobal.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

This website is not intended to collect personal information from children without appropriate involvement and consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technologies, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on this page.
